By using any of Stockist's services, or by dealing with a client using Stockist's services, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy and, as applicable, the Stockist Terms of Service.

Visitors to client websites

What information is collected?

Stockist provides store locator services to clients. Clients embed our app on their website, which interacts with our services to display store locator content and to collect information about how the app is being used on behalf of our clients.

When you visit a webpage that has embedded our application, our logs may collect information typically furnished by your browser when visiting a webpage, including the time of visit; page(s) accessed; your browser's "user agent" (containing browser and operating system details); IP address; and information about the cookies installed on the particular device.

When you interact with a store locator, our service may additionally collect details on behalf of our client about the queries you perform in the store locator, including the location being queried. Additionally, if the client has requested has requested to enable this functionality and you consent to your browser’s request to send this information, we may receive the GPS coordinates of your computer or mobile device.

How do we use this information?

We process the information collected in order to provide our store locator services (e.g. to show you relevant locations) and to allow our clients to understand details about the queries and popular search locations on their store locator. Additionally, we may use use aggregate operational data collected (e.g. request volume and timing details) to optimize and improve our app.

When do we share this information with third parties?

We provide details to our clients (the site displaying the store locator) about what searches are being performed in their store locator so that they can understand demand patterns and improve their distribution.

We work with a variety of third parties and service providers to help provide you with our services and we may share personal information with them to support these efforts.

In the course of providing our services, personal information (including your location) may be transmitted to Google Maps, subject to their privacy policy found here.

We may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Clients of our services

What information do we collect?

We may collect the following information from our clients (i.e. those who use our service to add store locator capabilities to their website):

  • If your account is paid by credit card, we may collect your credit card number, security code, and expiration date for billing purposes. These details are passed directly from your browser to our payment processor (Stripe) over a secure channel and your credit card details are never stored on or transferred to our servers.
  • If your account is set up with an optional integrated service (e.g. Shopify), we may collect personal information made available to us by each integrated service including your name, email, street address, and company details. You should check your privacy settings with the relevant service to understand what data is transmitted to us as part of connecting our app with your account on that service.
  • We may collect personal information such as your name, physical address, phone number, and company details for use in providing our services, issuing invoices, and collecting relevant taxes.
  • We may collect your email address as part of registration to support your use of the service, to allow you to sign into the service, and to provide you with notifications necessary to the operation of the service (e.g. for billing or resetting a password). We may also send you occasional promotional emails, which you can opt-out of at any time either through the unsubscribe link in such emails or by contacting us directly.

How do we use this information?

We use this information to provide you with our Services; for example, to confirm your identity, contact you, provide you with advertising and marketing, and invoice you. We also use this information to make sure that we comply with legal requirements.

When do we share this information with third parties?

We work with a variety of third parties and service providers to help provide you with our Services and we may share personal information with them to support these efforts.

Our employees and contractors may see your information in the course of operating the service or providing support to you. We reasonably minimize the access of such employees and contractors and educate them on handling your data responsibly.

Stockist serves the role of a data processor for personal visitor data because we do not own, control, or direct the use of such data collected by our clients through their use of our service.

If you are a client of our service, you are in control of the data collected through our service and are responsible for providing appropriate notice to your customers or other relevant parties concerning the purposes for which you collect and process personal data. Please contact us if you need assistance removing data from our service or limiting the collection of such data.

If you are a visitor to a client's website, please contact that client directly to request details about how they process, store, and use your data.

Controlling your data

You have the right to access personal data we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted.

We note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill requests made by you (for example to show you nearby stores), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

Security

We make commercially reasonable attempts to secure your information from unauthorized access or disclosure, however, when transmitting personal data, please keep in mind that no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of such information.

Transferability

Personal information may also be shared with a company that acquires our business, whether through merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, reorganization, or other similar transaction or proceeding.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
