Stockist respects your privacy and treats your personal information carefully. This document, part of our Terms of Use, describes what information we collect and what we do with it.

Information We Collect From Visitors to Clients’ Websites

Stockist provides store locator services to clients. Clients place code on their website which interacts with our services to display store locator content and to obtain information about how visitors to their websites are interacting with their store locator.

When you interact with a store locator, we may collect the following information:

  1. The text of any queries you perform in the store locator
  2. The GPS coordinates of your mobile device or computer, if the client has requested to enable this functionality and you consent to your browser’s request to send this information

When you visit a webpage hosting our services, we may also collect information that is typically furnished by your browser when visiting a webpage, including:

  1. Time of visit
  2. Page(s) accessed
  3. Browser information
  4. Operating System information
  5. Mobile Device information (including device type, operating system, device identifier, etc.)
  6. IP Address

Our services are not designed to collect information which could be used to personally identify you (things like name, address, or phone number).

If you do not wish us to collect the information described above, simply do not use the store locator feature on our client’s websites.

Aggregation across clients

We do not aggregate visitor data across multiple clients. For example, if you visit store locators hosted by our service for two different clients on the same day, our clients could not determine through our services that you had visited both websites.

Disclosure of Visitor Information

We do not share or sell specific visitor information to companies or individuals except the specific client on whose website we collected that visitor information. We may, however, aggregate such information across multiple clients and visitors and make such aggregated information available for other purposes, including promotional purposes.

Disclosure to Third Parties

We store and process collected information using services provided by third parties, including DigitalOcean,, Amazon Web Services, and others. These services hold and process information on our behalf and typically do not disclose such information except in specific circumstances and as required by law.

In the course of providing our services, personal information (including your location) may be transmitted to Google, the provicer of our mapping implementation. The storage and use of such information is subject to Google's privacy policy, which may be viewed here.

Client’s Use of Our Services

We encourage our clients to inform visitors to their website about their use of Stockist services, to disclose information that may be collected by our services, and to provide a link to this privacy policy. However, we have no control over our clients’ activities and cannot be held responsible for any client’s failure to follow these guidelines or make such disclosures.

Information We Collect From Clients

We collect the following information from our clients (people who use our service to add store locator capabilities to their websites):

  • Payment Information: We collect your credit card number, security code, and expiration date to process payments for your use of our services. These details are passed directly from your browser to our payment processor, Stripe Inc., over a secure communications channel. Your payment information is never stored or transferred to our servers.
  • Personal information: We may collect personal information such as your name, physical address, and phone number, for use in providing our services.
  • Email address: We may collect your email address as part of registration to support your use of the service and to allow you to sign into the service. We may also send you email pertaining to your use of the service, including promotional emails. You can ask us to stop sending you email at any time either through the unsubscribe link in such emails or by contacting us directly.

Disclosure to Third Parties

We may disclose collected information, including personally identifiable information, to third parties in the course of providing our services. When registering for or using our services you consent to such disclosure. For example, the following disclosures are made:

  • Payment and personal information is sent to a third party payment provider, Stripe Inc., for the purpose of processing credit card payments.
  • Your email address is sent to a third party email service, Mandrill, for the purpose of delivering emails to your account.
  • Personal information may be stored and processed on equipment owned and maintained by third-party cloud computing providers, including DigitalOcean, Amazon Web Services,, and others.
  • Our employees and contractors may see your information in the course of operating the service or providing support to you. We reasonably minimize the access of such employees and contractors and educate them on handling your data responsibly.

These third parties are contracted to provide services on our behalf and are obligated to keep your data secure. However, we have no control over these services and cannot be held responsible for their failure to secure such information.

Additionally, we follow any order to disclose information issued by competent legal authorities.


We make commercially reasonable attempts to secure your information from unauthorized access or disclosure. However, please keep in mind that no security system is impenetrable and that it may be possible for third parties to intercept or access information despite our best efforts. We cannot guarantee the security of such information and cannot be held responsible for unauthorized access to such information.


We do not knowingly or intentionally collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 or from websites that are directed to children under the age of 13.


You acknowledge that, if the Stockist service (or substantially all of its assets) is acquired by another company or entity, collected information may be transferred or acquired to the purchaser or successor who may then continue to use and disclose such information as set forth in this policy.


We may modify or amend this policy from time to time. Use of the information we collect is subject to the broader of (1) the policy in effect when the information was collected, or (2) any subsequent policy to which you agree or of which you have notice. Your continued use of Stockist services (including such services as provided through our client’s websites) constitutes acceptance of any modifications or amendments to this policy.
